What is the ThreadX Alliance?

The ThreadX Alliance is an initiative by the Eclipse Foundation dedicated to directly supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the Eclipse ThreadX real-time operating system (RTOS). 

In addition to robust program management and marketing services, the ThreadX Alliance helps provide essential financial support for the continued growth and innovation of ThreadX RTOS. This world-class support ensures long-term sustainability and growth, continued safety certifications, and leadership in the embedded real-time systems industry. 

The Alliance enhances the long-term sustainability of the ecosystem by ensuring companies have the resources they need to continue developing safety-critical solutions based on the ThreadX RTOS and fostering collaboration among industry experts. 

How does the ThreadX Alliance operate?

Through the governance and professional services provided by the Eclipse Foundation, the ThreadX Alliance thrives within a vendor-neutral ecosystem that actively builds and maintains the core technology and enables the contributor community to thrive and evolve. The ThreadX Alliance doesn’t change the open source nature of the Eclipse ThreadX RTOS. The code and documentation remains available on GitHub under the MIT-licence. 

Participation fees for the ThreadX Alliance are based on company revenue: €5K annually for companies with less than €500m in revenue €25K annually for companies with €500m or more in revenue. Join the ThreadX Alliance now.

How do I access the Eclipse ThreadX safety documentation?

Certification requires significant investment. The ThreadX Alliance membership fees ensure the resources and expertise needed to maintain and expand safety certification of future releases. The ThreadX Alliance membership grants exclusive access to safety certifications and safety artifacts (additional license fees apply). Safety documentation is available under a commercial licence with annual fees based on scope (per product, product family, or corporate). This document provides a detailed list of the package’s contents.
